Who help us create a more enriching research education.

The Berkeley Rhetoric Society. A group of passionate students driven to add to the culture of the rhetoric major at UC Berkeley. The organization boasts a high quality academic journal for students dedicated to pushing the rhetoric field forward.

The Associated Students of the University of California (ASUC). The officially recognized student association at the University of California, Berkeley. In addition to controlling funding for student clubs and organizations, providing resources and student programming, overseeing commercial activities and student services. Demonstrative Education at Cal (DECal) is a student-run democratic education program at the University of California, Berkeley. DeCal provides students both the opportunity to take university accredited classes on nontraditional topics and to teach those very same university accredited classes to other students. Classes can range anywhere from “How to Play Quidditch” to “Teach in Prison”– the course catalog is immense. At any given time, 3,000-5,000 students are taking at least one decal from the 150-360 that are available to choose from.

Bay Area Neutron GroupA group of undergraduates, graduates, post-docs, and professors whose research interests focus on fundamental nuclear physics for applications in nuclear security and safeguards, nuclear forensics, and advanced nuclear reactor design. Their specific interests include scintillator characterization and detector development, nuclear-plasma interactions, nuclear data, and nuclear energy and security policy.

Nuclear Science and Security Consortium. The NSSC’s mission is to support the nation’s nuclear security agenda, recruiting and training students in relevant nuclear disciplines in preparation for research and leadership roles in the national laboratories. The NSSC draws students and scholars together in unconventional ways, replacing the boundaries that separate disciplines with a more inclusive science-technology policy interface.

NUFP at UC Berkeley. We build a cohort of fellows and mentors who are paired for an academic year to gain more exposure and understanding of the Student Affairs profession. Because some students need more opportunities than others, NUFP creates possibilities and changes the landscape of student affairs and higher education. The mission of the NASPA Undergraduate Fellows Program is to increase the number of historically disenfranchised and underrepresented professionals in student affairs and/or higher education, including but not limited to those of racial and ethnic-minority background; those having a disability; and those identifying as LGBTQ.
